Flights
Fly to San Salvador, the capital of El Salvador. Casa Tortuga, located on Playa Dorada, is roughly 90 minutes from the airport. Casa Tortuga is just five minutes from Mizata, one of the better known surf breaks in the country. Except for the last ½ mile, the entire drive is on a new highway. Detailed directions to Casa Tortuga will be provided prior to your stay. Orientation: Please note that the El Salvador coastline is an East-West orientation… as an example; Guatemala is West of El Salvador, not North. What to know before you visit.
Transportation
Rental cars can be reserved and waiting for you at the airport. It’s pretty convenient as the car will be within 100 feet from the customs exit door. Be sure to get the auto insurance. We have a relationship with a good rental car agency that provides very reasonable rates. Let us know if you would like their contact information.
Additionally, cab rides can be pre-arranged or hired at the airport.
